Travel crate planning tool

Start your pet’s travel-crate conversation with clear measurements.

Use centimetres to estimate minimum internal dimensions from your pet’s measured body size. This is a practical CR1 planning tool, not an airline approval or booking confirmation.

Measure first

Record the four measurements below.

Take measurements with your pet standing naturally. The formula follows IATA’s public guidance for a minimum internal container estimate: length A + ½B, width C × 2 for one animal, and height D plus bedding.

A — Body length
From the nose to the base of the tail.
B — Leg height
From the ground to the elbow joint.
C — Body width
Across the shoulders at the widest point.
D — Standing height
From the ground to the top of the ears or head, whichever is higher.

Plan a CR1 container estimate

Confirm before you buy or book.

Container rules, materials, ventilation, occupancy, route restrictions, and airline acceptance can change. Confirm the current operating-carrier policy and your pet’s individual suitability before travel. IATA does not approve or endorse a particular container brand.
